Who We Are
We are a community of worship, fellowship, and service, and part of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. Although we are an Episcopal Campus Ministry, you do not need to be an Episcopalian to join; you only need a desire to grow in your spiritual life and a willingness to ask questions.
We are also a diverse and growing community of people from every possible spiritual background. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you’re welcome to join our spiritual adventures. Please look at What We Do for more details of our weekly gatherings.
Our ministers include our Chaplain, the Rev. Dr. Fennie H. Chang, our student Peer Ministers, Marina White and Jonathan Lopez, our Music Leader, Young In Lee, and YOU! At Canterbury Irvine, we minister to one another and the world. Come check us out and see for yourself!
The Rev. Dr. Fennie H. Chang, Chaplain
Fennie is originally from Taiwan, had ten years’ teaching experience in college, and received her Ph.D. in education from the University of Toronto, Canada. In 2007, with a strong calling from God, she began her theological studies in the seminary. She was ordained as a priest in the Episcopal Church in January 2012, and has been serving as the Episcopal Campus Minister at UCI since Fall 2011. In her leisure time, she likes to go for a drive, watch movies or sit down for a cup of coffee.
She is on campus Mondays and Thursdays, and can always be reached by email (email@example.com).
Jonathan Lopez & Marina White, Peer Ministers
Jonathan and Marina, our student leaders, are both native Californians and students and UCI; Jonathan is an undergraduate in Latino Studies, and Marina is a grad student in Psychology and Social Behavior. If you have any questions about Canterbury Irvine, or about life in general, they are great people to ask.
Young In Lee, Canterbury Musician
Young In is a Music major who plays the piano so that we can sing sing sing on Thursday nights. If there is a song that you have always wanted to sing in worship, or a song that you just can’t get enough of and want to hear one more time, Young In is the person to contact.
